Kazan-Yekaterinburg high-speed highway will pass through Bashkiria

The Kazan-Yekaterinburg highway will pass through the north-western regions of Bashkortostan. The Head of Bashkortostan said that the Russian Ministry of Transport had supported the proposed option for the new route through the north-western regions of our republic.
"The implementation of the project will significantly reduce travel time, transport costs, improve the quality of transportation, expand and improve foreign trade relations. At the same time, the republic is ready to provide all the necessary support for land acquisition and preparation of the necessary documentation for the construction of a new road," Radiy Khabirov said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the extension of the Moscow-Kazan highway to Yekaterinburg in his Address to the Federal Assembly. He noted that this route should be built in the next three years. "Russian Highways" State Company ("Avtodor") undertook the project management.
Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of Avtodor, highly estimated the economic and infrastructural potential of Bashkortostan.
"When planning our network, we connect the maximum number of economic growth centers, including when working out the passage of the high-speed highway from Kazan to Yekaterinburg. The Republic of Bashkortostan is one of the main such centers, which became an important component for us when choosing the route," Vyacheslav Petushenko said.
As part of the task of Russian President Vladimir Putin to extend the M-12 highway through the territory of Bashkortostan, it is planned to build a 200-kilometer section of the Kazan-Yekaterinburg highway. Saving on transport and logistics services will free up significant business funds, which are considered an additional investment resource in the region's development.
