Bashkiria hit Top 5 of ASI National Investment Climate Rating for first time

Today, on June 4, the National Investment Climate Rating results in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation were presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Bashkortostan took fifth place in this prestigious rating for the first time.

"The most important thing is to create an open dialogue with business, so I control projects personally; investors have my phone number," the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov stated. "Despite the pandemic and a decrease in entrepreneurial activity, the volume of investments in fixed assets in 2020 amounted to 100.9%. This testifies to the resilience of our economy and right actions taken".

He added that Bashkortostan had been one of the first in Russia amid the pandemic to prepare three packages of support measures for business, for a total amount exceeding 36 billion rubles.

He also said that active work was underway in the region to reduce administrative pressure on the business. Thus, Bashkortostan took ninth place in the "Index of Administrative Pressure - 2021"; previously, it was 11th and 38th, respectively.

The session participants discuss a program of events for launching a new investment cycle, which the government of the Russian Federation is developing. The session is attended by First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Andrey Belousov, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, General Director of ASI Svetlana Chupsheva, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, as well as leaders of all regions of Russia and experts.

Bashkortostan has been participating in the National Rating since 2015. Then the republic took 40th place, in 2016 - 20th place, 2017 - 13th place, 2018 - 23rd place, 2019 - 16th place, in 2020 - 9th place.
