Cooperation prospects between Bashkortostan and Austria were discussed at St. Petersburg Economic Forum

On June 2, the Chairman of the State Committee RB for Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities Margarita Bolycheva met with the Commercial Counsellor of the Austrian Embassy in Russia Rudolf Lukavsky, and the Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Moscow Fabian Ortner as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

In January-March 2021, the trade turnover between the Republic of Bashkortostan and Austria was at the level of US $ 4.2 million, where our exports amounted to US $ 486 thousand, which is almost 54% higher than in the same period of 2020, and imports from Austria also increased significantly and amounted to about $ 3.7 million, Margarita Bolycheva informed.

During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas and cooperation plans, agreed on close cooperation between the country and the region, and joint business missions for business communities.

Rudolf Lukavsky noted that the Republic of Bashkortostan had a huge investment potential and promised to invite the Austrian business representatives to our republic to get to know the republic better and establish business contacts with our entrepreneurs.

Taking this opportunity, Margarita Bolycheva invited representatives of the Austrian Embassy and the Chamber of Economics, the business community to take part in the All-Russian Investment Sabantuy "Trans-Urals", which would be held in the Bashkir city of Sibay on June 25-27. This is an annual event attended by representatives of federal and regional authorities, Russian and foreign businesses, investors, experts, and public figures.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is held in St. Petersburg from June 2 to 5, 2021. The official delegation of Bashkortostan takes part in it led by the Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov.
