Five SPPs account for 1.2% of power plants total capacity in Bashkiria

The total capacity of solar power plants operating in Bashkiria is 69 megawatts. Five SPPs account for 1.2% of the total capacity of power plants. Sterlibashevskaya, Buribayevskaya, Bugulchanskaya, Isyangulovskaya, Burzyanskaya SPPs operate in the region. The last four were built by Hevel LLC, which will also build the Baimakskaya SPP (with a capacity of 10 megawatts). This investment project is included in the program for the long-term development of the region's electric power industry.

Solar power plants are being built in the Gafuriysky region and in the city of Agidel. The opening of the Gafuriyskaya SPP is planned this year, the Agidel SPP – next year.

"Our task is to strengthen our leadership position in renewable energy, which expands Bashkortostan's opportunities to attract investors and implement large-scale projects even in remote areas," Minister of Industry and Innovation Alexander Sheldyaev stated at a briefing session in the government. He noted that at the end of 2020, Bashkiria ranked fifth in the Russian Federation in terms of created and planned solar generation facilities.

Electricity generation in the republic in January-April 2021 amounted to 8.76 billion kW/h, which is 3.1% higher than the amount generated in four months of last year. More energy was required due to the winter cold, and Zatonskaya CHPP and Novo-Salavatskaya CCGT unit were able to increase production due to fewer repairs, the minister explained.
