Ufa is among Top Russian cities with most active Internet buyers

The AliExpress Russia company has presented its own consumer index based on data on online purchases of Russians in 2020, which made it possible to identify the most active online shoppers and the most purchased goods.

According to the study results, Ufa was included in the list of Russian cities whose residents actively order goods via the Internet. The most popular purchases were household appliances or 49% of the total volume of payment for orders and smartphones (33%) and clothes (18%).

Blenders, irons, hairdryers, electric shavers, and steamers turned out to be the leaders in purchases of household appliances.

When choosing smartphones, the first two lines were taken by the Xiaomi models, the third - by the iPhone XR.

In addition to Ufa, the list of cities with the most active online shoppers includes Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Kaliningrad, Samara, and Chelyabinsk.

"Last year, the Ufa Main Sorting Center of the Russian Post processed almost 7 million items with commodity parcels received in Bashkiria from abroad and other regions of Russia. The overwhelming majority of them fell on orders from online stores," Director of the Russian Post RB Irek Galimov told Bashinform.

In the first quarter of 2021, Bashkiria received more than 2 million such shipments. This is 20 percent more than a year ago.

"At the same time, the share of orders made by residents of the republic on the Internet sites of domestic marketplaces located in Russia continues to grow steadily," Irek Galimov emphasized.
