Natural gas liquefaction complex is planned to be built in Bashkiria

It is planned to build a complex for the natural gas liquefaction in the Sterlitamaksky district of Bashkiria.

On Tuesday, April 6, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom LNG Technologies LLC (part of Gazprom PJSC) Alexei Kakhidze at the House of the Republic.

In September 2019, the Government of the Republic and Gazprom LNG Technologies entered into an agreement on the development of the market for LNG production and use. In particular, it provides for the natural gas liquefaction complex to be constructed in the region.

The Head of the Republic emphasized the high need for environmentally friendly fuel and outlined the key tasks of joint work in the near future.

The construction of the first stage of the complex is planned to begin in 2021. The total investment will amount to 1.9 billion rubles. Liquefied natural gas, in particular, will be used as a motor fuel in freight road and rail transport of republican enterprises.

Radiy Khabirov invited the management of Gazprom LNG Technologies to the Investment Hour sessions to discuss state support measures for the project and a roadmap for its implementation.
