100 CCTV cameras will be installed on federal highways in Bashkiria

100 photo and video recording cameras will be installed on federal highways in Bashkortostan to improve safety. The Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, and the Acting Head of the Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor), Roman Novikov, at yesterday’s meeting decided to conclude a trilateral agreement between the Government of the republic, Rosavtodor, and the Priuralie Highway Administration. The document will make it possible to quickly place and reinstall CCTV cameras on dangerous sections of the route.
“There are more than a thousand such cameras on the roads of the republic,” the Acting Minister of Transport and Roads RB Viktor Zhulkov noted. “In 2021, we will additionally install 800 more photo and video recording units, of which 100 are on federal highways.”
The Head of Bashkortostan also proposed using the mechanisms of a tripartite agreement in terms of coordinating road junction lanes from existing and under construction roadside service facilities to federal highways and installing tourist signs.
“We have set an ambitious goal in the republic - to build 1,000 new and renovate 1,000 existing roadside service facilities so that drivers and tourists in Bashkortostan feel comfortable,” Radiy Khabirov said.
Acting Head of Rosavtodor Roman Novikov supported this initiative and positively assessed the work on installing tourist navigation signs along the highways carried out in the republic.
