Head of Bashkiria spoke about brightest economic event of year

The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, named a significant figure - 366 billion rubles of investments - as a striking economic result of 2020. Speaking to the State Assembly RB deputies with a brief report on the government's activities, he noted that there were concerns about investments during the COVID year.

"Business really trusts our initiatives and wants to develop here, in our republic. Thus, we grew by one percent last year. We were able to surpass the best investment in 2019. That is why I consider 366 billion rubles of investments in 2020 to be a promising economic result of the year," Radiy Khabirov stated.

Two more great successes of the republic are the victory in the competition to create a world-class research and educational centers and Alga special economic zone of industrial type.

"Our initiative to create a second special economic zone for the development of science-intensive industries also received support from the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia. The farmers have shown good results. The volume of agricultural products increased by 3.1 percent to 190 billion rubles. A record grain harvest was harvested - more than 4 million tons. In a challenging year, we did not slow down the pace of construction. Housing commissioning increased to 2.4 million square meters. According to this indicator, Bashkortostan is one of the ten leading regions," Radiy Khabirov said.
