Employed population number will be brought to pre-pandemic levels in Bashkiria

By the end of the year, the number of the employed population in Bashkiria is planned to be brought to pre-pandemic levels - not less than 1.812 million people, the number of unemployed according to the methodology of the International Labor Organization (ILO) - not more than 83.8 thousand people. The Minister of Labor of Bashkiria Lenara Ivanova announced this at a briefing session in the regional government.

Meanwhile, according to preliminary data from the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency, on average, in 2020, the number of employed people in the region exceeded 1.789 million people. The number of unemployed, calculated according to the ILO methodology, was about 112 thousand people.

According to Lenara Ivanova, additional measures are being implemented in the labor market this year at the federal budget's expense, with an estimated maximum volume of more than 674.5 million rubles. Of these, 487 million rubles are planned to be spent on subsidizing employers when hiring 8.5 thousand unemployed citizens (at the rate of 57.5 thousand rubles per person).

Another 187 million rubles will be allocated for retraining more than 3 thousand employees of enterprises at risk of dismissal (at the rate of 59.6 thousand rubles per person).
