Radiy Khabirov chaired interaction commission meeting between Bashkortostan and Bashneft

A regular meeting of the permanent commission on interaction between Bashkortostan and the Bashneft Oil Company was held today in Ufa.

Radiy Khabirov noted that 2020 was a challenging year, including for the oil and gas industry. The decline in world prices and demand for oil and oil products, the agreement of the OPEC + countries to reduce oil production, as well as a significant deterioration in the economic situation around the world caused by the COVID-19 pandemic - all these factors had an adverse impact on the industry.

The head of the republic stressed that the key issues remain between Bashneft's interaction with the republic's enterprises, the company's implementation of projects for the construction and repair of transport infrastructure.

According to Bashneft CEO Khasan Tatriev, the company was able to continue implementing its production programs and even increased investments in key projects despite the pandemic.

In 2020, Bashkortostan and Bashneft signed investment agreements in the field of oil refining - for the construction of a backup process line for an elemental sulfur production unit and the reconstruction of a hydrocracking unit.

In 2021, the Government of Bashkortostan, together with Bashneft, plans to develop infrastructure facilities in the territories adjacent to the company's filling stations throughout the republic.

"We have launched an extensive program - we will develop roadside services throughout the republic, help entrepreneurs find new markets in this area, and create decent conditions for tourists. In this regard, it is also important to expand the list of roadside services at Bashneft filling stations," Radiy Khabirov said.
