Scientists of Bashkir State Agrarian University have created a project to introduce the Tabigat automated waste disposal bins system. The devices are designed to collect PET bottles, glass, and aluminum cans in exchange for a token reward.

"We have studied the existing automated waste disposal bins, identified their shortcomings, and developed our own unique design," Ildar Badretdinov, head of the Department of Mathematics at Bashkir State Agrarian University, explained. "Most devices work on the barcode reading principle, which often leads to errors. A smart robot is responsible for the recognition process in Tabigat. If a foreign object is put into the receiver, the mechanism will return it back through the appropriate window. "

Ufa engineers managed to achieve increased reliability and lower power consumption of their collecting equipment. Projects of automated waste disposal bins of various configurations and functionality have been developed for schools, shopping, and entertainment centers; there is also an outdoor version.
