Exports grew by 13%, foreign trade turnover - by 5% in Bashkiria in January

In Bashkiria, at the end of January 2021, foreign trade turnover increased by 5.3% compared to January 2020, the volume of exports - by 12.8% and amounted to $155.7 million. Import decreased by 17.6% - $37.2 million, according to the Bashkortostan Customs. The figures were announced at a meeting of the regional government.
Compared to January 2019, the indicator of foreign trade turnover increased by 15.8%, exports - by 21.4%, imports decreased by 2.9%.
The top ten export countries included China, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Greece, the Netherlands, and Iran. Trade turnover with these countries amounted to $144 million (74.7% of the republic's total foreign trade turnover).
The bulk of exports were engineering products (30.6%), fuel and energy products (21.7%), chemical products and rubber (19.6%), food products and raw materials (11.6%), metals and metal products (7.1%), wood and wood products (5.8%) in January 2021.
"Now, let us see what data will come in February," the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkiria Andrei Nazarov posted on his social media. "Since February 1, the procedure for filling out declarations has been changed. Now exporting companies can provide information about the manufacturer of the goods. This means that when calculating export statistics, we will be able to see goods that were produced in Bashkortostan but sent for export from the territory of other subjects."
