French investors plan to invest 3.8 billion rubles in Bashkir honey production

French investors Patrick Hoffman and Antoine Mendelovici intend to implement a large-scale beekeeping project in the republic. It relates to the creation of 30 thousand bee colony production facilities in Bashkortostan, the opening of an internationally accredited honey quality laboratory, as well as the production of up to 7 thousand tons of various honey products per year, aimed at international export.
Besides, businessmen plan to organize work to preserve the genetics of the Bashkir population of the Central Russian bee and promote the brand of republican honey. The total investment is 3.8 billion rubles.
The "Bee Happy" company was registered in the republic to launch the project, and a roadmap was developed to define the main directions and stages of work.
The first apiaries are planned to be installed in Burzyansky, Ishimbaysky, Kugarchinsky, and Kuyurgazinsky districts. In total, 160 new jobs will appear at the production facilities. A plant for processing honey products with an exhibition center will be located in Ufa.
The project is included in the priority list with reimbursement of part of the cost of purchasing equipment and the provision of tax incentives.
The Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, also instructed the administration of Ufa to assist in the placement of processing facilities and an exhibition center in the city.
"We are delighted that our French colleagues are interested in honey production and are ready to assist them in the implementation of the outlined plans. In 2022, Bashkortostan will host the Apimondia International Beekeeping Congress. Please, choose a worthy site for the exhibition complex in Ufa so that tourists can visit it," Radiy Khabirov said.
