Kumertau Aviation Plant completed Ka-32 fire-fighting helicopter upgrading

The Kumertau Aviation Enterprise has completed the development of an upgraded fire-fighting version of the Ka-32 helicopter. It is equipped with new avionics and more powerful engines. Previously, this system was purchased abroad, and the tank volume was three tons. It is now designed for four tons and is digitally controlled.
The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, said that the modernized helicopter would effectively fight fires in hard-to-reach places. The updated vehicle will be presented at the MAKS-2021 Air Show at the Rostec State Corporation site.
“The company finished the year 2020 with excellent results. Production growth was 49%. We managed to keep the company and increase the volume. In 2021, it is planned to produce seven units of new helicopter equipment at the Kumertau aircraft plant, repair and modernize 15 helicopters by orders of various departments,” the Head of the Republic told his followers on social media.
The enterprise is part of JSC Russian Helicopters, which is part of the State Corporation Rostec. The enterprise can produce helicopters of the Kamov family: Ka-27PS (search and rescue); "Ka-28", "Ka-29" (transport and combat); Ka-31 (radar); "Ka-32A" (multipurpose middle class); "Ka-32A11BC" (multipurpose, has a Canadian type certificate), "Ka-226" (light multipurpose). In 2012, a new model of the Ka-226T light-class helicopter was manufactured for the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, equipped with Arrius 2G1 engines, a medical module, a Goodrich winch, additional fuel tanks, a searchlight, and a weather radar.
