Best-selling car brands are named in Russia

The Russians spent 171 billion rubles on the purchase of new passenger cars in January this year. This is 8% more than a year ago. These are the data of the AUTOSTAT analytical agency.

According to experts, the growth in market capacity in monetary terms is largely due to an increase in the weighted average price, which increased by 13 percent in January 2021. And this happened despite the drop in sales of new passenger cars - by 5 percent.

According to the analytical agency, most of all, in January 2021 was spent on the purchase of cars of the Korean brand KIA - 21.5 billion rubles.

The German premium brand BMW took second place with 17 billion rubles.

The Japanese Toyota closes the top three - 15.7 billion rubles.

The Russians spent a little less money on the purchase of new LADA cars - 15.4 billion rubles. Korean Hyundai and German Mercedes-Benz had comparable indicators in this regard - 14.3 billion and 14.1 billion rubles, respectively.

Analysts also mark the Czech Skoda brand with 10.2 billion rubles.

Russians spent less than 10 billion rubles on buying cars of other brands.
