Bashkiria ranked 29th in Russian regions rating of life quality in 2020

The quality of life in most Russian regions practically did not change in 2020. Moscow (82,164 points), St. Petersburg (80,634), and the Moscow region (76,068) are leading the rating compiled traditionally by the RIA Novosti agency. According to the study, Bashkortostan (50,009) took 29th place; in 2019, the republic was in 25th place.
Among 85 constituent entities of the country, the last three are the Karachay-Cherkess Republic (27.693), the Trans-Baikal Territory (26.889), and the Republic of Tyva (17.506).
The study shows that the aggregate rating score increased in 40 regions and decreased in 45. Simultaneously, in most regions, the scores have changed insignificantly; that is, the indicators characterizing the quality of life have generally not changed significantly.
According to RIA Novosti, when calculating the rating, an analysis of 70 indicators was carried out, which are combined into 11 groups characterizing the main aspects of the quality of life in the region: the level of income of the population, employment, and the labor market, housing conditions, safety of living, demographic situation, environmental and climatic conditions, health care and the level of education, provision of social infrastructure facilities, level of economic development, level of small business development, development of the territory and transport infrastructure.
Experts used data from Rosstat, the Ministry of Health of Russia, the Ministry of Finance of Russia, the Central Bank, and other open sources.
