Entrepreneurs number decreased by 10% in Bashkiria in 2020 - research
In Bashkiria, the sole traders' number decreased by 10% during 2020, according to the service "Kontur. Fokus". At the beginning of the year, there were 88.1 thousand entrepreneurs in the region, with only 79 thousand at year-end. During 2019, the number of entrepreneurs did not change.
In general, the number of companies decreased by 7% - from 159.8 thousand to 148 thousand. The main process (reduction by 5%) took place in October-December. This suggests that business has been damaged hardest by the second wave of lockdown measures. For the whole of 2019, the number of enterprises decreased by 1%.
The following industries were hit mostly by the pandemic in the region:
1. Gambling and lotteries: -30% (from 20 to 14).
2. Insurance: -26% (from 89 to 66).
3. Administrative activity: -20% (from 1431 to 1144).
4. Air and space transport: -20% (from 20 to 16).
5. Libraries, archives, museums: -19% (from 212 to 172).
6. Wood processing: -17% (from 1142 to 946).
The number of companies has grown in the following industries:
1 Manufacture of vehicles and trailers: + 22% (from 37 to 45).
2. Postal and courier services: + 13% (from 142 to 160).
3. Oil and gas production: + 6% (from 32 to 34).
4. Production of chemicals: + 6% (from 283 to 299).
5. Construction of engineering structures: + 5% (from 877 to 921).
6. Software development: +3% (from 1985 to 2044).
The analysis was carried out according to OKVED codes in segments where at least 20 enterprises are registered, Kontur. Fokus noted.
