Waste sorting complex with capacity of 100 thousand tons per year will start working in Tuymazy

The construction of a new waste sorting complex at the MSW landfill in Tuimazy is nearing completion.
Currently, the company is preparing to install sorting equipment.
The complex is designed for the annual processing of 100 thousand tons of waste. The total amount of funds invested in the complex construction and equipment is about 140 million rubles.
Currently, preparations are underway for the installation of sorting equipment.
The complex is equipped with modern equipment: a separation screen and a shredder. The first apparatus sifts all organic matter, extracting recyclable resources from the garbage, the second crushes bulky waste. As the press service of the Ministry of Ecology of Bashkiria marks, five waste sorting complexes were built in the republic in the Ufimsky, Iglinsky, Kushnarenkovsky, and Aurgazinsky districts in 2020.
However, this is not enough for the region. The republic's need for new waste sorting facilities is currently estimated at 10 facilities. According to the Ministry of Ecology of RB, in 2020, only about 26% of waste passed through sorting. The share of waste disposal should be about 50% so that no more than half of the collected waste is disposed of. Last year, only 2% of MSW was utilized.
The regional waste operators' possibilities to develop the waste sorting infrastructure are still modest since the current fee for garbage collection is lower than the initially approved tariffs. As a result, almost all the funds are spent on MSW removal without saving funds for development. The situation should change after the indexation of the tariffs of the regulators operating in Bashkiria. At the expense of additional funds, it is planned to build three more facilities for sorting municipal waste in the region by 2023.
