Imports to Bashkiria grew by 19% due to seagoing gas tanker purchase

The republic's foreign trade turnover amounted to more than $ 3.92 billion in 2020, having decreased by 22% ($ 5.25 billion) compared to 2019, Bashkortostan Customs informs.
Imports grew by 19% ($ 767 million in 2019 and $ 913 million in 2020), but the increase was due to the purchase of a $ 251 million sea tanker - gas carrier by the Bashkir company.
The main reason for the decrease in trade turnover was the reduction in exports under the conditions of quarantine restrictions, although exports still accounted for the lion's share of the turnover - 77%. 39% of exports were products of the fuel and energy complex, 27% - mechanical engineering, 20% - chemistry.
64% of imports were engineering products: tanker, refrigerators, freezers, fittings for pipelines, instruments and instruments for geodesy and topography, forklifts, grinding machines, other machines and mechanical devices, pumps, medical devices; 70% of imports are engines.
17% of imported from abroad - chemical products: immunological preparations for pharmacy, boards, sheets, films, and strips or tapes from plastics, catalysts, medicines, organic chemical compounds; about 65% of imports of chemicals are finished pigments, paints, enamels, glazes, and similar products.
8% of imports were food: alcoholic beverages (mainly beer), fruits and nuts, cocoa, and products from it; 75% of food imports were live animals (mainly breeding cows).
