Restaurant business decreased by one quarter in Bashkiria in 2020

The turnover of regional catering for 11 months of 2020 decreased by 24% or 20.6 billion rubles compared to January - November 2019. Minister of Trade Alexei Gusev announced these figures at a meeting with industry entrepreneurs. The development of catering amid pandemic was discussed.

As the minister wrote on his social media, the companies' owners expressed their full understanding of the situation and their willingness to work with the necessary restrictions: in compliance with sanitary standards, "entrance" before 00.00 and "exit" until 02.00. The meeting was attended by the owners of the networks Kumpan, Leader Group, Goji, Edalia, and others.

According to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency data for January-September, the revenue of catering, together with hotels, amounted to 2.8% of the turnover of small and medium-sized businesses and micro-enterprises, which amounted to 693.6 billion rubles (the result of the nine months of 2019 is 807.1 billion rubles).
