Bashkiria will develop food and processing industry development program

According to preliminary estimates, the gross agricultural output of Bashkortostan in 2020 will amount to 177.1 billion rubles, with an increase of 6 percent compared to 2019. This figure was 77.8 billion rubles for crop production, 99.3 billion rubles for livestock. These figures were announced by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture of the Republic Ilshat Fazrakhmanov at a briefing session in the government.
The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, praised the ministry's employees and the agro-industrial complex workers in general for their excellent performance and work in 2020, noting that it was possible to outline a trend for the industry modernization, especially everything related to agricultural machinery. At the same time, the Head of the Republic set the task to improve the food and processing industry's work.
Deputy Prime Minister Ilshat Fazrakhmanov noted that in 2021 the main focus would be made on developing the food and processing industry. The development program is currently under development. Another important task is to promote regional food products and create new regional brands.
"2021 has been declared the Year of Science and Technology in Russia. Supporting the trend of the year, we will continue to work on the creation of the South Ural selection and seed center for forage crops. The state company "Tavros" will create the Republican Center for Reproduction and Embryology at Bashkir State Agrarian University. This joint project will significantly improve the level of training of students and will become the basis for professional and advanced training of existing employees. Another challenge is the development of horticulture. Here, too, the work has already been started. We will continue to work on perennial plantations in the Chishminsky fruit nursery and the Stolypino agro-industrial complex of the Kushnarenkovsky district," Ilshat Fazrakhmanov said.
Another task is to digitize the industry. The priority is precision farming and precision animal husbandry technologies.
"This will allow us to ensure the quality of our products and the business economy. We have successful projects in both directions (MTS Tsentralnaya - Agrosignal. Krasnaya Bashkiria agricultural enterprise - LeLy). We set the task to implement similar projects in other farms for the year of 2021", the Agriculture Minister said.
