Metallurgical production increased by 71.4%, in Bashkiria for 11 months of 2020, the Ministry of Economic Development RB reported, based on Bashkortostan Statistics Agency data.
"The economic consequences of the pandemic are observed in all regions of Russia. The most affected sectors were industry, trade, catering, and hotel business," Rustam Muratov, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of Bashkiria commented on.
As Muratov emphasized, in a fairly short time, the republic was able to "mobilize all available resources and prepare two packages of anti-crisis measures." The third package of anti-crisis measures is currently being prepared.
"We already see the effectiveness of the decisions made. There are no sharp drops in our economy," said the First Deputy Prime Minister of the republican government.
In general, in January-November 2020, high growth rates were also noted in the production of other finished goods, vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, clothing, chemicals, chemical products, medicines and materials, and electrical equipment.
"At the end of 2019, the industry in the republic was growing. The industrial production index amounted to 104.4%, exceeding the all-Russian indicator by 1.1%. The results of the first three months of 2020 also showed stable growth - by 1.7%," Alexander Sheldyaev, Minister of Industry, Energy, and Innovation of Bashkiria, stated.
According to him, since April 2020, the republic's industrial sector has begun to show a negative trend in many respects.
"Now, we are starting to catch up. In October of this year, the industrial production index has already exceeded 100.5% over the same period in 2019. The manufacturing industries in October showed 105%, in November - 101.6%, although in general for 11 months it is 97.2% to the same period last year," Alexander Sheldyaev said, having noted that the average Russian figure was 97%.
