Small aviation development prospects were considered in Ufa

Russia may need at least 15 years to reach the level of small aircraft development in the United States. This was stated by the President of the Federation of General Aviation of Russia, Sergey Minigulov, during the thematic session at the International Business Week 2020 in Ufa.

"In the United States, 211 thousand general aviation aircraft are registered, which fly 25 million hours a year, compared to 7.5 thousand Russian vessels, which fly about 700 thousand hours annually," Sergey Minigulov noted. "Small aviation creates 1.2 million jobs in the United States, with an annual turnover of $ 247 billion. Transiting air tourists within the United States spend about $ 2 billion a year on food alone and about $ 4 billion on hotel accommodation."

Our country's lag is primarily due to the level of the ground infrastructure development of small aircraft. In the United States, it is served by 19,000 airfields, including federal airports, where special conditions have been created for this. In Russia, the total number of operating airfields is only about 400.

"The issue of lagging can be resolved only through the mass small aircraft development," Sergey Minigulov stressed. "But even if we create the best legislation and begin to develop this industry actively, we will need at least fifteen years to reach the current level of the United States."
