Bashkiria and Kazakhstan are planning project on wholesale distribution centers construction
Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan are planning a joint project for the construction of wholesale distribution centers. They function as hubs through which both export and import flows go. Bashkortostan has an advantageous location in terms of logistics since three federal highways pass through its territory, and there are six million-plus cities within a radius of 500 kilometers. This was discussed during the meeting of the Prime Minister of the Government Andrei Nazarov with a delegation from Kazakhstan as part of the International Business Week 2020.
"Kazakhstan is the main partner and closest neighbor for Bashkortostan. We have a large and unrealized potential for cooperation, which can be significantly expanded in the near future, even in spite of the existing restrictions," said Andrei Nazarov.
The Bashkortostan leadership plans to open a representative office in the city of Nur-Sultan, strengthening trade and economic ties between the region and Kazakhstan. At the end of 2019, Kazakhstan ranks fourth in Bashkortostan's foreign trade turnover. In January-September 2020, the mutual trade turnover was at the level of $ 221.8 million, while exports were fixed at $ 207.2 million and imports - $ 14.6 million. The construction of wholesale distribution centers may promote trade and economic relations between Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan.
