Radiy Khabirov held visiting session of Government in Sterlitamak

On December 7, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, held a visiting session of the Government of the republic in Sterlitamak devoted to the socio-economic development in the city.
The Head of Bashkortostan emphasized the need to improve the environmental situation in the city.
"Together with the shareholders of Bashkir Soda Company (BSC), we have developed a roadmap to improve the environmental situation a long time ago, but we are not one step closer to its practical solution," said Radiy Khabirov. "The well-being of people is above all corporate disputes and discussions. The republic is ready to support any good initiatives of the company, including opening the once closed industrial production."
The Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Andrei Nazarov outlined the nationwide trends in socio-economic development projected onto Sterlitamak.
"The industrial production index in the republic since the beginning of the year amounted to 97.1 percent. Sterlitamak showed a slightly better result - 98 percent," said Andrei Nazarov. "There are pressing environmental issues, many of which are related to the Bashkir Soda Company's industrial activities. In this part, we all need to coordinate environmental work. We finished last year with investments in the regional economy in the amount of 322 billion rubles with a growth rate of 113.6 percent. For the first nine months of 2020, we received an increase in capital investments by another 4.3 percent compared to the same period last year. In Sterlitamak, during this period, the volume of investments increased by 33 percent".
The head of the city administration Vladimir Kulikov spoke in detail about the socio-economic results of the municipality's development in 2020. In general, the aggregate profit amounted to 16.7 billion rubles with an increase of 5.3 percent. More than 130 investment projects are being implemented in Sterlitamak.
The Head of Bashkortostan outlined a key goal in construction - the republic should build 1 sq. m of housing per year per person by 2030. For Sterlitamak, this means a doubling of the current indicators - 100 thousand square meters of housing. Radiy Khabirov instructed to create an interdepartmental working group to find reserves for housing construction growth.
First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of Bashkortostan Rustam Muratov characterized the investment potential of Sterlitamak as one of the most powerful in the republic. However, in per capita recalculation, the level of investment attraction puts the city in 18th place among the republic's municipalities. Such an indicator does not correspond to the general republican trends. The Head of Bashkortostan instructed the Ministry of Agriculture to attract investors to Sterlitamak with projects for agricultural processing more actively.
Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Housing and Communal Services RB Boris Belyaev spoke about programs for the improvement of territories and the development of the urban housing and utility services system. Sterlitamak is in fourth place in the region in terms of living comfort, but the lag in a number of projects negatively affects the general indicators of Bashkortostan in federal ratings.
Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Family, Labor and Social Protection RB Lenara Ivanova spoke about the demographic problems of Sterlitamak. Thus, the city's birth rate decreased by half, the migration loss of population and mortality increased.
