Radiy Khabirov: "We are witnessing a management crisis in Bashpotrebsoyuz"

Bashpotrebsoyuz (Bashkir Consumer Cooperatives Community) showed a drop in industry indicators for 10 months of 2020. Thus, the wholesale turnover, catering turnover, and purchasing of agricultural products have almost halved compared to the same period in 2019. Today, these data were announced at the next thematic online "Rural Hour" session, which discussed the development of the republic's consumer cooperatives system.

Bashpotrebsoyuz unites 125 cooperatives, employing about 3.3 thousand people. Mostly cooperatives work in the field of trade and catering.

As Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture RB Ilshat Fazrakhmanov noted, the situation is very uneven. There are leaders, and there are districts in which consumer cooperation is generally closed. At the same time, the potential of the system is very high.

He proposed to adopt the positive experience of managing the best regional cooperatives and replicate it in other territories.

"The success in several districts only proves that the crisis in Bashpotrebsoyuz is not systemic, but subjective," said Radiy Khabirov. "It all depends on local leaders and their teams. This is a management crisis in Bashpotrebsoyuz."

The Minister of Trade and Services RB Aleksey Gusev came up with an initiative for closer cooperation of manufacturers to produce competitive products under uniform brands that would interest medium and large retail chains.

The Head of Bashkortostan instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Trade and Services of the republic, within two weeks to work out a concept for developing the consumer cooperatives system with specific proposals for solving the industry's problems.
