Since the beginning of the year, Bashkiria has expanded the geography of its non-oil and gas exports to 10 more countries, the regional Ministry of Economic Development and Investment Policy reports.
The republic began supplying non-oil and gas exports to Honduras, Uruguay, Guatemala, Ecuador, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Syria, Jordan, Morocco, and Venezuela.
Expansion of the geography of non-oil and gas exports is carried out within the framework of the national project "International Cooperation and Export", the department noted.
"It is essential for us to that Bashkiria is represented on the international arena not only by mineral resources but also by other high-quality goods that are produced in the territory of the republic. For example, this year, we increased the amount of sunflower oil exports by almost $ 25 million and reached $ 41.5 million. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, Bashkiria manages to enter new sales markets," said the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republican Government - Minister of Economic Development and investment policy Rustam Muratov.
In addition to increasing the number of partner countries, Bashkiria this year began to supply new types of non-oil and gas exports abroad.
Among them - plywood from specific species, the export volume of which amounted to $ 4.671 million. Besides, the export of cumene ($ 2.737 million), butylene and its isomers ($ 1.143 million), rapeseed with a low content of erucic acid ($ 495 thousand), industrial non-electric ovens ($ 380 thousand) is organized.
"In January-September 2020, the volume of non-oil and gas exports reached almost 60%, which is $ 1.272 billion. Such results were made possible due to the support measures we provide to our exporters. However, I would like to note that we will finish 2020 with more modest indicators of foreign trade turnover since the pandemic has painfully hit the international relations of absolutely all countries," Margarita Bolycheva, head of the State Committee for Foreign Economic Relations of Bashkiria, added.
In general, for the nine months of 2020, the volume of Bashkir exports amounted to $ 2.172 billion. The main partner countries where the republic supplies its goods are China, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Malta, and the Netherlands.
As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, the export of products of Bashkiria's agro-industrial complex reached $ 115.9 million as of November 1. This is $ 40 million more than a year ago.
