Bashkiria retains first place in Russia for beef production and second for milk

For nine months of 2020, all farms produced 260 thousand tons of livestock and poultry meat in Bashkortostan, with an increase of 11% compared to last year. The republic retains the first place among Russia's regions in the beef production of 102 thousand tons. Since the beginning of the year, agricultural enterprises and peasant farms have observed an increase in livestock and poultry production in live weight by 28% and 4%, respectively.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 1.3 million tons of milk has been produced (+ 1%), including 581 thousand tons - marketable (+ 4%). Bashkortostan ranks second in the Russian Federation for milk production. The current volumes testify to preserving the occupied positions at the end of the current year.
The increase in milk production is due to the implementation and launch of large investment projects. Also, one of the factors for increasing milk production is the growth in cow productivity by 5% over the same period last year. Milk yield per cow in agricultural organizations amounted to 4464 kilograms.
The leader in gross milk yield is the Aurgazinsky district, with a volume of 71.6 thousand tons. Chekmagushsky, Baimaksky, Abzelilovsky, Ilishevsky districts produced from 45 to 56 thousand tons of milk.
