Radiy Khabirov: We are setting next task now - 5 million tons of grain harvest
The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, on his social media thanked the republic's agrarians for their work and the high results achieved during the harvest. This year, more than 4 million tons of grain have been harvested in the republic's fields, a quarter more than last year. This is the second-largest crop in the last ten years (4.039 million tons in 2017).
"The villagers' enormous work and our measures of state support to the agrarians have led to this result. We partially subsidized the cost of fertilizers, helped to acquire and maintain the seed fund. The result is tangible - we have raised the yield by 3 centners per hectare at once. Besides, we have brought into circulation 29 thousand hectares of previously unused arable land. These lands were not used at all. Now we are setting ourselves the next task - a grain harvest of 5 million tons. Such a result is quite achievable for our republic; we have very hardworking people who know how to work and love their work. Thank you all. For our part, we will continue to support agriculture," Radiy Khabirov posted.
Grain growers this year harvested an average of 22.8 centners from each hectare (2019 - 19.9 centners/hectare). A significant increase in gross grain production was ensured through the use of fertilizers, the purchase of seeds of higher reproduction (superelite and elite). In the current year, 20 thousand tons of seeds were purchased for 374 million rubles, which is 33% more than last year.
The farmers of Bashkiria in January-September 2020 also purchased 2.6 thousand units of agricultural machinery and equipment worth more than 7.7 billion rubles, which is 2.6 billion rubles more than last year.
