Producers of environmentally friendly organic products will receive state support in Bashkiria

The deputies of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan plan to include a new area - organic agriculture - in the list of the main directions of state support for agriculture in the republic. Recall that there are special requirements for the production and storage of environmentally friendly organic products at the federal level, including bans on the use of harmful agrochemicals, antibiotics, genetic engineering methods, ionizing radiation, and special packaging requirements, and several others. Special labeling of organic products is also provided.

According to the Сhairman of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan, Konstantin Tolkachev, all this naturally affects the rise in the cost of producing such goods and the price for the consumer.

The bill assigns organic agriculture to the same priority areas for the republic, such as horse breeding, beekeeping, and elite seed farming.

"Manufacturers engaged in this area will be able to count on financial measures of state support," said Konstantin Tolkachev. "Similar support measures are currently being provided from the republican budget to stimulate the use of fertilizers in order to increase land fertility. Funds to support producers of organic products are planned to be provided already in the republic's budget for 2021".
