Expansion of economic cooperation with Germany was discussed in Bashkiria

The State Committee for Foreign Economic Relations of Bashkiria discussed the expansion of economic cooperation with the German Federal Republic during a video conference with the country's trade mission in Russia. Germany is one of the main trade partners of the republic. In January-June, Germany's share in trade turnover was 8.6%. In 2019, the trade turnover amounted to almost $ 204 million, of which exports account for $ 134 million (+ 5% by 2018), imports - $ 69.7 million.

85% of exports were fuel and energy products, oil products, natural gas, oil and coal, 10% - the chemical industry, 2.5% - metals and metal products.

"The German-Bashkir turnover grew steadily, but this year, during the pandemic, exports decreased. We need to decide how we can help our producers, work with each one individually, and reduce the drop in volumes," Margarita Bolycheva, head of the state committee, commented on the matter.

Andrey Sobolev, Germany's trade representative in Russia, spoke about the mechanisms for Russian manufacturers to enter the German markets and promising directions. These are light, food processing, agriculture, information technology, equipment, mechanical devices, oil and gas sector, pharmaceuticals, and metallurgy. Bashkiria can benefit from Germany's technologies in expanding the network of electric filling stations, modernizing and electrifying railways, introducing digital and green technologies.

Russian companies can enter German markets by participating in tenders on e-commerce platforms. Companies can learn about them and learn how to work in them by contacting the Export Support Center of the republic.
