Record grain harvest is collected in Bashkiria

The grain harvest in Bashkiria exceeded 4 million tons, which is a quarter more than last year's figure, the republican government stated.

"We congratulate the villagers on this important event. Over the past ten years, we have only been able to hit the 4 million ton mark for the second time," said the Head of the Region Radiy Khabirov at a briefing session in the government of the republic. "This success has become possible in many ways due to the republican support".

As the Bashinform News Agency reported earlier, this year, the average grain yield per hectare was 22.8 centners against 19.9 centners last year.

A significant increase in gross grain production was ensured through the use of fertilizers, the acquisition of the highest reproduction seeds (superelite and elite).

This year, 20 thousand tons of seeds were purchased for the amount of 374 million rubles. This is 33% more than last year.

Besides, the growth was ensured due to sowing previously unused arable land. Thus, this year, 29 thousand hectares of unused arable land were put into circulation.
