Bashkiria companies intend to supply their goods to Qatar

Bashkiria is establishing trade relations with Qatar. Cooperation prospects were discussed at a meeting of the Qatar-Russia Investment & Trade Advisory delegation with regional exporters. According to the head of the Foreign Economic Relations State Committee RB Margarita Bolycheva, one of the priority tasks of developing cooperation is to increase the volume of non-resource-based exports and the number of exporters.

The Minister of Economic Development of Bashkiria, Rustam Muratov, recalled that machine-building equipment, metal products, and chemical products produced in Bashkiria were already supplied to Qatar.

The Qatar delegation meeting was attended by representatives of 27 republican companies operating in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries, IT technologies, food industry, and light industry. They presented their products and received recommendations for entering the Qatar market.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development RB, at the end of 2019, the Republic of Bashkortostan's foreign trade turnover with Qatar was at the level of 10.0 thousand US dollars. Mechanical engineering products (77.6%), metal products (12.4%), and chemical products (2.8%) constituted the main part of exports. The foreign trade turnover in January-July 2020 amounted to 7.5 thousand US dollars, import supplies for this period were not recorded.
