Second large infectious diseases hospital will be built in Sterlitamak

It is necessary to build a second large infectious disease center in Bashkiria, the Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov said at a briefing session in the government. Earlier, he spoke about this on October 3 during his visit to the Infectious Disease Center in Zubovo, which was overcrowded and worked at its limit. At the same time, the Head of Bashkiria suggested that a new COVID hospital should be built in the city of Sterlitamak. Prime Minister Andrey Nazarov said that "two sites have been selected in the city, and if a decision is made, work will begin."

The second infectious disease center will become an extraordinary project, which will be built by postponing the implementation of others, the Head of the Republic explained.

The Ufa Infectious Disease Center cost the budget 3.5 billion rubles and was built in record time - less than two months. The new infectious disease facility in Sterlitamak should be commissioned by December 15, said Radiy Khabirov. He discussed this issue in a telephone conversation with the Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko, who supported such a decision. The possibilities of attracting federal co-financing are being considered for construction.
