Industrial production index fell by almost 15% in Bashkiria in August

The industrial production index decreased by 14.4% in Bashkiria in August compared to August 2019. According to Bashkir Statistics Agency, the decline in January-August compared to last year was minus 3.3% (in the Russian Federation - -5.5%, in the Volga Federal District - from -16.2% to + 6.9%).

The negative trend persists in the extraction of minerals (-9.7% compared to January-August 2019), manufacturing (-2%), the supply of electricity, gas, and steam (-7%).

The production index in the printing industry fell by 52.4%, in the furniture industry - by 39.4%, leather and leather goods - by 37%, coke and oil products - by 10.6%, and wood processing - by 4%.

The positive trend was provided by the utility sector (+ 10.6%) - water supply, wastewater disposal, waste collection and disposal, activities to eliminate pollution.

Also, growth was recorded in the production of other finished products (2.2 times compared to January-August 2019), metallurgical production (+ 52%), production of vehicles (+ 38.5%), electrical equipment, medicines and materials, chemical substances, and chemical products (+ 20-21%), clothing production (+ 17%), food products, textiles (+1.1 - 1.7%).
