Vladimir Putin instructed to check situation with Bashkir Soda Company

Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the situation around the Bashkir Soda Company. “The company I have just mentioned has a majority stake owned by individuals. No money is invested in development, no money remains in the region,” he said at a meeting with the government, REN TV reports. The head of state noted that with a revenue of 45 billion rubles, only 2.5 billion rubles were spent on investment purposes. Vladimir Putin said that the money did not stay in the region but was channeled offshore.

“First of all, you have to think about people, about jobs and the social sphere, and the uncontrolled money-making without any obligations is such a sad story,” the Russian president said.

The head of the state instructed the government and leaders of the republic to investigate the situation in detail and then propose a solution. He also instructed the prosecutor's office to check the deal, as a result of which the state lost control over the assets.
