Bashkiria entered Top 10 regions with most polluted air

Bashkiria took seventh place in the top 10 Russian regions in terms of emissions from enterprises and transport. Such data for 2019 is provided by RBC, referring to the report of the analytical service of the international audit and consulting network FinExpertiza.
Thus, in Bashkiria, the total emission of pollutants into the atmosphere by enterprises and transport amounted to 600 thousand tons last year.
The Krasnoyarsk Territory is in the first place of the anti-rating with 2,623 tons of pollutants emitted into the atmosphere during the year.
The Top 10 regions with the most polluted air also include Kemerovo Region, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, Sverdlovsk Region, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Irkutsk, Chelyabinsk, Orenburg Regions, and Krasnodar Territory.
In total, last year, Russian enterprises and transport emitted 22.7 million tons of pollutants into the atmosphere.
About 155 kg of harmful emissions per year is accounted for one Russian. Moreover, as experts say, this figure ranges from 23 kg to 1.6 tons, depending on the region.
Enterprises generate about three-quarters of all air emissions, and cars generate one quarter.
Among industries, metallurgy pollutes the atmosphere more than others (3.7 million tons of emissions annually or 21% of all emissions from enterprises).
