Industrial production index exceeded national average in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, the industrial production index for seven months amounted to 97.8%, which is 1% less than in the first half of the year, the Head of the Region Radiy Khabirov said on Monday at a meeting in the government.
For comparison: in Russia as a whole, the industrial production index in January-July of this year is 95.8%.
"We, of course, hoped that our economy would return to its previous indicators by the end of the year," said Radiy Khabirov. "A number of industries are already showing quite positive dynamics. In particular, growth of over 140% is observed in the production of food products, vehicles, medicines. However, at the same time, there is a decline in the extraction of minerals - 78%, in the production of petroleum products - 71% - quite predictable scenario associated with international events."
Meanwhile, the index of agricultural production in the first seven months of 2020 amounted to 103.6%. As noted at a meeting in the government, after several years of decline, agriculture in the region is now showing a relatively stable positive dynamics.
The volume of housing construction in the republic increased in January-July by 6.2%, while a decline was recorded on average across Russia - 88%, compared to the same period last year.
Investment growth over the same time, despite challenging conditions, the coronavirus pandemic, isolation, amounted to 8.9% in Bashkiria.
