Grain harvest exceeds last-year level by 863 thousand tons in Bashkiria

Bad weather slowed down the pace of harvesting in Bashkortostan. However, it still exceeds the level of last year, said Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, at a briefing session in the Government of the republic. As of August 15, 27% (487 thousand hectares) of the area of grain and leguminous crops were mowed, 466 thousand hectares of which were threshed. The region's grain growers harvested 1 million 180 thousand tons of grain, which is 863 thousand tons more than last year.
Today, more than 300 dryers operate in agricultural organizations of the republic, the shifting capacity of which is about 80 thousand tons. Over the past five years, agricultural enterprises of the republic have purchased 73 high-performance dryers. Thus, the technological capabilities of grain drying in agricultural enterprises of the republic are about 65% of the maximum daily threshing volume, taking into account the production capacity of elevators - 75%, Ilshat Fazrakhmanov stated.
He noted that the agrarians should become more active, both in using the existing drying capacities and in purchasing new dryers. Moreover, today the pricing policy in the grain market makes it possible to compensate for drying costs. Purchase prices for grain crops are at the level of 10-12 thousand rubles, which is, on average, 20% higher than last year.
The Head of the Ministry of Agriculture RB especially noted that the best workers would receive valuable prizes based on the results of the harvesting campaign. 20 cars were allocated for rewarding machine operators, drivers, combine operators, and plant operators.
"We lay great hope for the villagers. Over the past six months, the industrial production index has slightly decreased for obvious reasons, but agriculture shows growth," Radiy Khabirov marked.
