Kumis best producers were named in Bashkiria

Bashkiria summed up the results of the annual republican competition "Kumisfest". This year, amid the coronavirus pandemic, it was held online for the first time. To participate in the competition program, participants had to prepare a video presentation of their products. All videos were posted on the official YouTube channel of the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Bashkortostan.

According to the results of the competition, the places among the participants were distributed as follows:

1st place - Amineva Gulnaz (LLC "Tamyan"), Abzelilovsky district;

2nd place - "All-Russian Research Institute of Horse Breeding", Ryazan region, Rybnovsky district, Divovo settlement;

3rd place - Albina Salimova, Buzdyaksky district RB, Kuzeevo village.

Additional prizes from the jury were awarded to Guzaliya Rakhmatullina (Baymaksky district, Bakhtigareevo village) "For active participation" and Alena Shamsutdinova, a methodologist of the Russian Historical and Cultural Center "Krasny Yar" for "The most famous kumis".

According to the organizers, which are the Ministry of Culture RB and the Republican House of Friendship of Peoples, the project is aimed at preserving and developing the original Bashkir craft – kumis drink making.

Bashkiria keeps 9% of the total number of horses in Russia, and 45% of mare's milk is produced here. Today, 170 kumis farms in the republic with livestock of 8 thousand horses annually produce 3.7 thousand tons of drink.
