Ka-26 helicopters will be repaired in Kumertau

A new site for the overhaul and production of components for Ka-26 helicopters will appear in the priority development area in the city of Kumertau.
Oleg Yunusov, the initiator of the project worth 600 million rubles, the CEO of Tekhpromservice LLC, said that more than 800 such helicopters were produced. The model has already been taken out of production, but many operators, including those abroad, are interested in repairing the machines. Thanks to its successful design, the Ka-26 helicopter is relevant for various industries.
"Today there is not a single repair site for such equipment in the country. Because of this, many helicopters were just taken out of service," explained Oleg Yunusov. "We plan to repair and modernize these helicopters. One of the largest potential buyers is China, which is ready to purchase up to 150 Ka-26 units that have undergone a major overhaul."
Investors have already prepared project documentation and purchased part of the equipment for repairs. A land plot is required to locate an enterprise.
The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, instructed the leadership of the city of Kumertau, together with investors, to select a suitable site, as well as to work out at the level of the Government RB the possibility of concessional financing of the project with the involvement of federal funds.
