Government will return tourists up to 15 thousand rubles for holidays in Russian regions

Tourists who decide to have a vacation in Russia will receive compensation for their costs for purchasing tours in the amount of 5 to 15 thousand rubles. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced this on Wednesday, speaking in the State Duma with a report on the work of the Government.
"The sum of refunds to tourists will be from five to fifteen thousand rubles, depending on the tour. A total of 15 billion rubles will be allocated for this. This money will be used to partially reimburse the expenses of people who, by the end of this year, decide to have a rest in the Russian regions, their list has already been drawn up by Rosturizm," the head of the Russian Government noted.
Mikhail Mishustin added that tourism was one of the most promising industries, but currently, against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, this area was in a difficult situation.
"And it is necessary not only to support it but also to provide conditions for its rapid development, including opening up new opportunities for domestic tourism," the prime minister said.
We recall that tour operators have already received subsidies for about 3.5 billion rubles.
