Unemployed number has increased 5.2 times in Bashkiria year to date

As of July 13, the number of unemployed citizens since the beginning of the year increased by 5.2 times and amounted to 95 thousand people. The registered unemployment rate was 5% of the total number of working citizens. One in three of the registered unemployed lost their jobs during the pandemic. 46% of those who applied to employment centers did not work for a year and longer or did not have an official place of work. They receive unemployment benefits (from January to April - 1725 rubles, from May to July - 5175 rubles).

Unemployed citizens with minor children receive an additional 3 thousand rubles per child in June-August. In 2020, 2.5 billion rubles were received from the federal budget for the payment of unemployment benefits. These data at a meeting of the Presidium of the Government of Bashkortostan were announced by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Family, Labor and Social Protection Lenara Ivanova.

“Since the beginning of summer and with some relaxation of restrictive measures, employers have become more active in reporting information about available jobs,” said Lenara Ivanova. “Thus, in June, more than 21 thousand vacancies were offered at employment centers, of which 96% were vacancies within the republic. As of July 13, more than 40 thousand vacancies were posted in the republican bank of vacancies.”

“We must take all support measures to reduce tension in the labor market. People should not be left without work”, summed up First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Nazarov.
