The harvesting campaign starts in Bashkiria. The Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, announced this in his social media following the results of the "Field Day" held in the Chishminsky district on July 16.

"Today, in Bashkortostan, we are starting to harvest bread. A hot season begins for combine operators and all those involved in this noble process. We, for our part, did our best to support the farmers. Equipment, fuel, warehouses - everything is ready. We provided subsidies, encouraged producers. At the same time, we are developing in terms of selection. The brainchild of our scientists, a hybrid of winter wheat and rye "Bashkirskaya-3", was presented at the Field Day. Its potential yield is 80-85 centners per hectare. This is 4 times more than the average. I wish you good weather, and we expect high performance", Khabirov posted.

Traditionally, grain harvesting will begin with winter crops - they ripen earlier than spring crops, the Ministry of Agriculture of the republic reports.

As for the winter triticale "Bashkirskaya-3", this is the pride of domestic science, the department informs. The variety was cultivated by scientists of the Bashkir Research Institute of Agriculture. Its breeding center is located in Chishmy. The variety is included in the State Register of Plant Variety Achievements approved for use in the Ural and West Siberian regions of the Russian Federation.

The Research Institute was awarded the gold medal of the Agro-Industrial Forum and the 29th International Exhibition "AgroComplex-2019", the silver medal of the exhibition "Golden Autumn-2018". for the creation of the winter triticale "Bashkirskaya-3".

The average yield of "Bashkirskaya-3" over the years of testing amounted to almost 48 centners/hectare (the standard - 39 c/ha). In the hot summer of 2016 in Bashkiria, the yield of the new variety was more than 59 c/ha. The maximum grain yield was obtained in 2017 in the Tyumen region - 87 c/ha.

The bakery grade of the new variety is 3.5 points (1 point higher than the standard), that is, this triticale can be used not only for animal feed. Starch and malt are also produced from triticale.
