Industrial production index in Bashkiria reached peak over past five years - Nazarov

In terms of industrial production, Bashkortostan ranks ninth in Russia and second in the Volga Federal District. Last year, the industrial production index amounted to 104.2% compared to the national average of 102.4%. This is the greatest value over the past five years, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republican Government Andrey Nazarov emphasized on Thursday at a meeting of the Bashkir parliament.
The industrial sector accounted for over 40% of the gross regional product.
“In 2019, the industrial sector accounted for more than half of the turnover of organizations and 69.8% of the volume of goods shipped and services rendered,” said Andrey Nazarov. “Bashkortostan maintains a leading position in the production of certain types of industrial products and is a leader among the regions of Russia in terms of oil received for refining, production of motor gasoline, diesel fuel, soda ash, flat glass, concrete pumps and concrete trucks, and a number of other positions.”
Meanwhile, mining in the republic amounted to 111.9% last year, compared to 2018.
Currently, Bashkortostan produces 3 percent of all Russian oil, or 18.3 million tons. Of these, 16.1 million tons of oil - in the republican territory.
Bashkortostan is now one of the eight regions of the country with the largest volumes of oil production. It takes third place in the Volga Federal District with a share of 13.5 percent.
As the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan stressed, the implementation of large projects and the new product development contributed to the sustainable growth of the industrial sector.
In particular, the construction of one of the industry’s largest underground mines in the Podolsk copper-zinc deposit began. New production facilities in the chemical complex, mechanical engineering, and electric power industry were also commissioned.
“Modernization of terephthalic acid production was completed at the POLIEF enterprise. The machine-building enterprises of MK Vityaz, Tuymazinsky Concrete Truck Plant, JSC INMAN, and Gidravlika mastered new types of products, modernized production facilities. NefAZ PJSC launched the production of new models of buses, trailers and semi-trailers. UEC - UMPO mastered new engine components, a new production line was opened at the Beloretsk Springs Plant”, Andrey Nazarov added. “ Besides, the construction and commissioning of the Verkhneburzyanskaya and Nizhneburzyanskaya solar power plants was completed. JSC STEKLONiT completed the implementation of the project to relocate the production site to Ufa and mastered the production of new types of products. ”
Three new industrial parks were created in the region during the year of 2019. Their number currently reaches 13.
The Industrial Development Fund reviewed and supported the financing of projects of industrial enterprises located in Bashkortostan with a total budget of 4 billion rubles. The total amount of loans amounted to 2.5 billion rubles.
“During the period of combatting the coronavirus infection, we have practically managed to retain the volume of production - in 22 of 29 sectors, with a decline of not more than 10%. Moreover, the mining, metallurgy, engineering industries experienced even an increase. In fact, the republic’s industry showed the level of last year,” the First Deputy Prime Minister stated. “Under the auspices of the Bashkortostan Industrial Development Fund, the volume of support increased to 450 million rubles. Projects totaling 472.5 million rubles were supported. In this difficult period, our industry ensured the production of more than 4.5 million reusable masks and more than 250 thousand disposable protective suits. ”
