Bashkiria agrarian and industrial complex retains leadership positions in Russia - government

The agro-industrial complex of Bashkortostan is fast developing and continues to retain leadership positions among the regions of Russia, said First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republican Government Andrey Nazarov.
The republic ranked eighth in terms of gross agricultural output in the country last year and second in the Volga Federal District.
In terms of livestock production, Bashkortostan took fourth place in Russia and second in the Volga Federal District.
In general, in 2019, the total investment in the agricultural sector of the region reached 7.4 billion rubles, by a quarter higher than in 2018.
The state support received by the industry amounted to 6.7 billion rubles last year.
“The agricultural sector of the region has high export potential,” the First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized at the meeting.
Thus, last year the republic increased the agricultural products export 2.5 times. Including oil and fat products 2 times - up to $ 47.7 million, meat and dairy products 1.7 times - up to $ 3.1 million.
“Despite the difficult situation associated with COVID-19, the agricultural sector of Bashkortostan continued to increase production volumes. In the first five months of this year, agriculture added 2.5 percent. The production of milk and meat increased. A sowing campaign was carried out on time and with high-quality. Work is underway on fodder harvesting and crop care. The positive trend of the industry development shows that the directions specified in the 310th decree of the Head of Bashkortostan are quite attainable”, said Andrey Nazarov.
