Official unemployment reached 5% in Bashkiria - Ministry of Labor

In Bashkiria, official unemployment (the number of unemployed to the labor force) has grown since January by 4.4% and reached 5%. “The psychological mark of 80 thousand has been overcome - 80 326 people have been recognized as unemployed today,” said Lenara Ivanova, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, at a briefing. While unofficial unemployment rose, presumably, to 13-14%.

Total 85 thousand people addressed to employment centers. 35% of those recognized as unemployed lost their jobs after March 1.

As of June 23, 73 thousand residents of the republic received unemployment benefits, of which 51% the minimum ones.

12 thousand recognized as unemployed (about 33%) received an increased allowance for 18 thousand children.

A total of 80,700 unemployed received various support measures during the pandemic. About 1 billion rubles were paid, on average more than 10 thousand rubles per person. Additional funds were requested - the republic would receive 1.6 billion rubles, the minister said.

In Russia, the number of officially registered unemployed at the beginning of June was 2.09 million, according to the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation. The real number of unemployed in the country was about 4.3 million in April, and 1.1 million received benefits, according to the Federal State Statistics Service.
