Bashkiria exported agricultural products for $ 70 million

The agricultural products exports of the republic amounted to 70 million US dollars since the beginning of the year. The Federal Customs Service of Russia presented preliminary data for May 10. Last year, by this date, the figure was $ 36 million. The double growth was ensured by the export of those types of products which production is several times higher than the needs of the population of the region, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkortostan explained.

Thus, the export of sunflower oil from January to April 2020 amounted to 36.9 thousand tons, worth $ 25.8 million - four times more than last year. The main recipients were China and Turkey. Recall that last year it was produced vegetable oil almost six times more than the needs of the region. Bashkir sugar was exported for 12.6 million US dollars. Last year, more than 200 thousand tons of sugar were made in the region, which is twice the demand. Bashkir sugar was mostly exported to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Also, a significant share in the export structure of agricultural products is occupied by seeds and fruits of oilseeds, barley grain.
