4.2 billion rubles will be allocated for forestry development in Bashkiria

The Government of Bashkortostan considered the draft state program “Forestry Development” until 2026. The Acting Minister of Forestry of Bashkortostan Alla Anikina said that in total 4 billion 175 million rubles would be allocated for the implementation of the measures announced in the program, of which: 1 billion 843 million rubles from the federal budget, 1 billion 706 million rubles of extrabudgetary sources, 625 million rubles – from the budget of the republic.
Most of the funds will be directed to the implementation of the subprogram to ensure the protection and reproduction of forests - 2 billion 676 million rubles, or 64%. 1 billion 76 million rubles will be allocated to ensure the use of forests - 26% of the total funding.
About 3 million cubic meters of wood is harvested annually in the republic. The reforestation area has reached the level of the clear-cutting area. In 2019 it amounted to 14.9 thousand hectares, the plan was exceeded by 10%, the growth rate was 40% by 2012.
According to an estimate in 2020, the areas of leased forest plots will increase 1.9 times compared to 2012. Accordingly, the revenue of payments to the budget system of the Russian Federation will raise by 2.4 times and reach almost 630 million rubles.
“In terms of the funds raised for the implementation of the regional project in 2019, the republic took first place in the Volga Federal District. 198 million rubles were allocated for reforestation and the purchase of special equipment, taking into account additional financing. The funds have been fully spent. In 2020, the republic was leading in the Volga Federal District in terms of the funds raised. Budget appropriations of 211 million rubles were received in full. For the years 2021-2024, funding is provided in the amount of 594 million rubles,” Alla Anikina said.
The Republic of Bashkortostan is one of the largest forest regions of the European part of the Russian Federation. The forests occupy more than 5.7 million hectares or 40% of the territory of the republic. The total stock of wood is 785 million cubic meters, of which the annual maximum allowable cutting volume, or the estimated cutting area, is 10.3 million cubic meters, or 1.3% of the total stock.
