Grain production increased by 6.2% in Bashkiria

The grain production in the republic amounted to 3 million 247 thousand tons in 2019. Despite the death of crops (160.4 thousand hectares of winter crops and 36.5 thousand hectares of spring crops), the indicator grew by 6.2% compared to the previous year. The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, announced this at a meeting of the regional government.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, last year the introduction of unused arable land, an increase in the use of mineral fertilizers by farmers by 13%, an increase in the area sown with elite seeds by 11%, as well as technical modernization of production contributed positively on the growth of grain and leguminous crops production. Sowing terms were also reduced by 3 calendar days, harvesting operations - by 8 days. In this regard, the estimated duration of spring crops sowing is now 12-15 calendar days.
The Chekmagushevsky district became the leader last year in yield, where 37.9 centners were collected per hectare with an average republican level of 19.8 centners per hectare. For comparison: in 2018, the indicator was 18.6 kg/hectare.
Note that the volume of agricultural production in the republic reached 167.1 billion rubles in 2019, an increase of 102% compared to 2018.
